Isis speakers club Meeting Summary

Introduction: 
Dear Fellow members and Guests, Thank you to everyone who participated in the last Isis Meeting on Thursday, Jan19th.It was wonderful to have nearly 30 people in attendance in the old courthouse for the second meeting in a row. fantastic. Well done .Arjun Thandi, working in the role of grammarian introduced the word of the day, which, on this occasion was 'plethora' and he encouraged us to use this word a plethora of ways. .
Table topics: 
as usual we began the evening weather table topics session mastered, on this occasion by Becky Lee, who introduced this evening's theme, which was 'Disaster' and in particular, the things people might grab at the last minute, in the event.Table topics speakers were John, Fatjon Anneka, Maris and Svetlana. They answered such questions as: what photograph; item of clothing; piece of music or kitchen gadget would you bring with you at the last minute in an emergency?this was an excellent and thought-provoking table topic session. Prepared speeches and evaluations: 
as usual, after the interval, we heard prepared speeches.Sarah Eveleigh gave us a presentation on defusing conflict from the advanced communication manual:Interpersonal Skills. Don O'Neill gave a very informative speech about evaluations and RobertPaynter gave us his icebreaker speech from the competent communicator's manual about technology.
Wrapping up: 
Our president Arjun Thandi presented the certificates at the end of the meeting. On this occasion, first-time guest, Marys won the best table topics for her account of which piece of music she would take if she had to one thing in an emergency. Robert Paynter won the best speaker award for his iicebreaker speech and Nick Andrews won best evaluator for his valuation of the table topics speeches.Nicholas Stevens gave us an entertaining account of how the pantomime was performed just after Christmas by Isis members As usual we made our way down to the Mitre public house for a few beverages and to reflect on our wonderful evening.
News and Dates for Diary: 

Date to be confirmed:Nicolas informed us that the pantomime is to be performed again at a regional meeting in April and that we will have the opportunity to polish up the production before then and bolster up the cast so if anyone would like to participate please contact Nicholas Stevens date to be confirmed: The club's annual speech competition will be held in March and the speeches will be 5 to 7 min on any subject. Please begin your preparations. If you'd like to enter.
