Meeting Summary - February 2nd, 2012

Introduction:

Yet another meeting packed full of new faces! Twenty-seven people total. It is great to see interest as well as speak in front of strangers at each meeting. Carlos Gimeno was an excellent Toastmaster for the evening and kept the meeting moving along smoothly.

Table topics:

Sarah Eveleigh had a fresh spin on table topics with the questions circling the queen and jubilees. Many guests participated and Chris Lima won best table topic speaker. Daniel Mathke evaluated with feedback for each participant.

Prepared speeches and evaluations:

Nicholas Stephens gave an edu-speech about prep work involved in public speaking and the importance of staying on time with a vivid personal example. Gavin Hageman was asked to give an impromptu speech that night as another speaker was absent, he really showed skill with "Love Is..." a heartfelt speech about his personal analysis on the concept of love. Maris Kopcke gave her icebreaker "Hagus, Stuck Needle, Lack of Marketing, and Guiness" where she announced her areas of focus for Toastmasters. Maris blew us away with her current talent and won Best Speaker! Finally Annika Larson did "Mingling 101" with tips on how to work a room full of strangers.
