The Apprentice 1

The theme of today's table topics is based on the show the Apprentice. If you have not seen it before... it's a reality TV show where a group of aspiring business men and women compete to win a £100,000 a year job with Lord Alan Sugar. It runs over 10 weeks. Each week they are given tasks to perform in Teams and each week one person is fired until finally one candidate is selected.

Topics

Pitching – You are to give a pitch for a new product to potential suppliers. If you are successul then your product is likely to go on and sell like hot cakes. The product is called Moody, spelled, Mood-E. It is an automated remote control that you wear around your wrist where it is able to detect your mood. Depending on your mood it will control various electronic devices around your house like the Lighting, Music, and Volume. Please make your pitch.

Sales

You are a salesperson and your task is to try and sell to sell us the shirt you have on.

Board Room – In week 1 of the show, You are one of the final three in the board room, where one of you will be fired. The other 2 candidates are very strong and both did very well selling shirts in this task. You did well too but you were not in front line sales so did not make an impression. What are you going to say to persuade Lord Sugar?

Project management - Lord Sugar has pointed out that he has yet to see you shine as an individual, so you have decided to make your case to be the next project manager of your team.

The Task is to develop an iPhone application that informs where the nearest public toilet is located.

Tell us why you should be fit to lead.

Public relations – In this week's task you are going to be leading a PR exercise on your hometown. Tell your team where your hometown is, Why people are going to want to go there and how you are going to promote it.

Interview 1 – You are one of the remaining final two candidates. Lord Sugar is looking for anything that puts you above your fellow candidate. Tell Lord Sugar about a challenging situation you have faced. What was the situation and how did you cope with it?
